Questions about plastic components for aerospace and defence
Yes. PEEK is one of the most demanding thermoplastics to process, and our experience with it is a genuine differentiator. We also process DAP, glass-filled nylons and a range of specialist thermosets via compression and transfer moulding. Our Operations Director trained at one of only a handful of specialist plastics engineering institutes in the world.
Yes. Our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system has been maintained continuously since 1989. We can adapt our standard inspection and traceability procedures to meet customer-specific quality plans, including First Article Inspection Reports, batch certification and full lot traceability.
Absolutely. Many aerospace and defence components are produced in small batches with very low annual volumes. As one of the few UK moulders still offering compression moulding alongside injection moulding, we are well placed to maintain legacy thermoset components that other manufacturers can no longer make.
Yes. Broanmain is one of only a handful of UK companies still processing both. Our compression and transfer moulding fleet handles phenolic, DAP, epoxy and DMC/BMC, while our injection moulding fleet covers the full thermoplastic range from commodity to high-performance grades. This means we can recommend the right process for your application without bias.
Standard documentation includes First Article Inspection Reports, certificates of conformance, batch traceability records and material certificates. We can adapt to additional documentation requirements based on your customer specifications.
