PLASTIC PRECISION COMPONENTS MADE SMARTER

prototype to product

where ideas materialise into parts

“Being able to partner with a likeminded moulder that shares our engineering flair is important for both innovation and continuity. Right from the outset Broanmain has gone the extra mile. As well as helping up with the tooling design, we leaned on the team a lot for guidance on processing, tooling development and materials”

Anthony Gomme, Strategic Buyer, Specac Ltd.

Design & Prototyping

Broanmain Plastics has decades of experience supporting OEMs and innovators, creating 3D models and prototypes to take ideas from concept to full scale production. Providing as little or as much design input as needed.

We always consider the bigger picture. From mouldability and feasibility studies to reverse engineering and reworking existing product blueprints, we combine our polymer and tooling expertise with our application and functionality knowledge. Sharing impartial advice to:

  • Prove business cases
  • Assure investors and assist with OEM onboarding
  • Scope out lead times
  • Determine costs, space and labour needs
  • Reduce material costs
  • Optimise assembly efficiency

The tools we use:

3D models and prototypes can be provided in raw state, solid machined pieces or to exhibition standard. We use a range of advanced software and methods, to create and share product designs, including:

  • Liquid and powder 3D printing
  • Mould flow analysis, simulating the injection moulding cycle and design to optimise moulding attributes before producing the model
  • Finite element analysis, predicting material reactions to various conditions such as heat, vibration etc.
  • Reverse engineering, deconstructing legacy parts to extract design information
